We leave the vehicle and walk the narrowest, most dramatic section on foot beside the clear river, then stop for a riverside lunch in the canyon before the drive back west toward Ouarzazate in the late light.

- Season: The gorge is striking year-round and the canyon floor stays shaded and cool. Spring and autumn are mild; the river can run higher after winter and spring rain. We'll tell you honestly what to expect for your dates.
- Light & timing: An early start beats the midday coaches into the narrows and gives the best light as the sun reaches down between the walls. Sturdy shoes help on the riverside path, which can be damp underfoot.
